CellarTracker App Reviews

I’ve been waiting for this!

Totally pumped to download the mobile version of CellarTracker. CellarTracker is such a fantastic desktop platform, and now so pumped to have it on my iPhone. Been using Cor.kz for years (in fact introduced me to CT), but interface is very poor and at times buggy (delete wine and it shows back up). Eric has done such a great job with CT desktop, I have full confidence the smartphone version will only get better. Thank YOU!

Great start

Im really excited to have this app available and this is a great start. While it is a bit sluggish, especially with image processing, overall Im pleased with this first iteration of the app. I cant wait for more of the website functionality to be integrated here. Keep up the good work!

Good and Will Improve

This is virtually a mirror image product of the mobile website. It works well and gets me to the data I need faster than a web browser. The only annoying nit is that it defaults to searching “My Tasting Notes”. It doesn’t remember my last search option, even when I return directly from browsing the results of a search. I have to constantly reset the search domain to “My Cellar”. This is a minor nit that I hope will be addressed in the next update. Overall this is a slick app that provides vital access to the most current and reliable database of wine reviews on the planet.

Great extension of a great service

I use CellarTracker to help manage 4 locations and thousands of wines - the mobile app makes it a lot easier to manage my cellars from the ipad while I have the physical bottle in front of me and to simplify adding/drinking activities to keep inventory correct. Looking forward to continuing the use of the vast set of data available within CellarTracker.

Bar Code Scanner Does Not Work.

Bar code scanner does not work. At. All. Very frustrating as I use the function a lot. Love Cellar Tracker in general, best reviews out there, but would love to have a working bar code scanner.

Great App!!!

Works great and is a HUGE help in organizing an overgrown collection. Thank you!!

Very helpful

In addition to a great interface it ties in to a huge database of knowledge.

Perfect App for any size cellar.

This is a great app for any size wine cellar. Easy to use and the database of wine knowledge is incredibly useful. Of all the wine cellar apps I have tried this is the most useful and easy to use. The reports are very useful and have helped me to identify wines that we need to consume in the near future based on the community input consume by dates.

Ehhh

App ok if wine is already loaded. If not, go stub your toe; much less painful than trying to add new bottle on full site.

Great App

I was using the website for almost a year before the app was published and couldnt be happier with it. Great tool for maintaining your collection and also researching wines.

Simple and synchs well

Love the new app. Now to get barcodes setup

No search capability

When will the app include the ability to narrow search of my cellar by multiple characteristics (e.g., varietal, country, producer, etc.). Until they add this ability, the app is worthless for finding wines. Until then, have to keep using Internet version or Corkz.

Nice extension of the website

This app provides a really convenient way to tap into the information from the website. I find myself using it more and more when shopping for wines in the store (the barcode reader makes that much easier) or picking a wine from a wine list. 2 suggestions: 1. Add the ability to recognize a wine from the label on the bottle (several other wine apps do this). This should also be able to tap into existing pix in my photo library. 2. Beef up the search functions. Thanks for a terrific app and website!

Great idea, poor execution

Fantastic concept, but theres no confirmation for most functions. You have to go to a new function to confirm a change, but your not sure if what you just did was saved, and the back button seems to get you in to situations where you double up actions. A program developed by a software developer, with little user input or verification. I heard this app was developed by one of the Microsoft co founders, which makes sense, and why I moved to a Mac.

Prepare to work hard

I find myself going back to the website more often than not (and even that is dubious at best). Workflow design is probably the most dismal I have ever seen in an app. It’s screen after screen after screen after screen of information I don’t care about for the task at hand and the screens just keep coming. It’s like they took their data base schema and mapped it to screens directly. The real strength here is the depth of the database. Contrary to what another user said there is a search function and it’s relatively easy to look a wine up to see reviews. At least that much is right.

Ok for cellar inventory but certainly not worth $40!

What I like: easy to add wines if theyre in the database. If theyre not I just could not figure how to add them. I also like that it suggests the years to drink each wine. But as soon as you get started they ask you for $40. A $49 ap? Its not that good!

New Features & Updates

This is the BEST app for keeping your wine inventory updated, current and organized. Thank you Eric & Team!!

Needs “Narrow Results"

I’ve been using Cor.kz for a few years, and I found it slow, clunky, and missing functionality. So i eagerly tried CellarTracker’s app when I heard about it from their recent email blast. CellarTracker seems to be much faster and more responsive than Cor.kz. Unfortunately it lacks filter functionality (called “Narrow Results” on the Cellar Tracker web interface). The lack of filters can be simulated by doing a search (i.e. search for 2010 Cabernet), but it’s a pain to have to type out the search criteria. Until Cellar Tracker adds filters to their app, I will suffer with Cor.kz.

Still not as good as others.

The product is still clunky and the image recognition isnt great.

Easy to use for tons of different wines

With the CellarTracker app, its so easy to add wine to my collection and to know what I have or need to get more of when I am out wine tasting! Finally, I am maintaining an accurate inventory of my cellar. I love checking out the other users thoughts on when different wines are at their prime. Thanks!
